Hadassah was responsible for the largest shipment of relief supplies
to be sent to Bosnia by a non-governmental organization. More than 100
tons of donated medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, linens, winter clothing,
shoes, and personal hygiene products were collected under the supervision
of Hadassah women in Nurses Councils and Chapters throughout the United
States.
Physicians from the Hadassah Medical Organization in Jerusalem were
part of the international team aiding refugees in Rwanda, and they assisted
in treating victims from the terrorist bomb blast in Buenos Aires.
Hadassah personnel from Israel helped build, staff, and maintain health
care facilities in Zaire.
